Korean martial arts began more than 2,000 years ago and have evolved into the modern day fighting techniques called Tae Kwon Do.

Today, Tae Kwon Do has followers and students throughout the world and is considered one of the most effective means of unarmed self-defense.

Tae Kwon Do training includes specific movements and techniques which develop required skills in the student. These movements and techniques must be practiced on a regular basis in order to achieve a high level of proficiency. Among the most important skills the student must develop and maintain are those forms, or hyungs, which include all basic techniques and stances utilized in Tae Kwon Do. These forms, or hyungs, develop and require of the practitioner discipline, concentration, and dedication.
